At Sub-Q Tattoo, our highest priority is the health and happiness of our clients. We rely on the long-term satisfaction of our clients, and we take seriously the trust that is invested in us with each tattoo.

All of our artists have to be licensed, which includes taking courses in bloodborne diseases and first aid.  They will also have to pass a standardized competency test and will have to pass at least two inspections per year by health department officials.

The greatest health risk in any environment where body fluids are present is through cross-contamination. Cross-contamination occurs when blood containing pathogens (disease-bearing microbes) is transferred from one surface to another through touch. We fight against cross-contamination with glove changing, handwashing, disinfection, and sterilization.

At Sub-Q Tattoo we implement a rigorous daily routine of disinfection that includes all hard surfaces (including doorknobs, countertops, floor and furniture). All items involved in the tattoo process that can be disposed of afterwards are—pens, razors, needles, and paper towels are all single-use. All other items are disinfected or sterilized before and after each tattoo.
